Ego wound

I had it all planned.

The scar on my knee wouldn't go unnoticed. I could already see myself at parties talking to an attentive audience about the circumstances of the accident.

Ambushes in the jungle, heroic actions in the midst of devastating earthquakes, desperate rescues of tearful young girls, crocodile bites, bullets flying around, the trouble past of a soldier of fortune.

Except.

Except that now that the staples are gone the scar doesn't look like much. The scratch of a kid who fell off his bike, an infected mosquito bite, a clumsy burn from a summer night barbecue in Wexford.

It's hardly going to impress anyone in Los Angeles, is it ?

i'm that nerdy.

you've just proven my point though. people will believe all kinds of shit.

Sounds like your scar could use a little stage make up to make it look more impressive. A college guy once clumsily elbowed me just above my eye.... a little extra purply eye-shadow went a long way to making him feel bad about it the next day.

You could tell people it was a really nasty scar but you've got a very good plastic surgeon. I understand LA people will be even more impressed with that story...

ps I tell people that the long 4 inch scar (complete with holes where the stitches were) on my right forearm was from a knife fight. It's scary how many people believe me.

It was actually from crawling over a broken bottle hidden in sand on the beach when I was seven...

An Unheard Lady GaGa Hit was Discovered this afternoon with no traces of where it originated from.
Some say that it was found in GaGa's Record Label's headquarters.
